John K. Murphy, affectionately known as Murph, has spent his career working with private business owners to successfully achieve their growth stories by acting in an advisory board-type role. After 20 years as an investment banker, Murph started JKMA in 2004. Murph’s straightforward, yet patient hands-on approach provides clients with the trustworthy partner they need to meet their strategic, growth, liquidity, succession and shareholder transition objectives.
Whether it’s at the poker table or navigating troubled waters, Murph’s poker face gives nothing away. He is a dedicated Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Baaaadgeerrss fan who graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a BA in Finance and Marketing, and holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago.
Ken Lee is an experienced finance professional who has spent the last 17 years helping companies create value through prudent financial management. He began his career on Wall Street, helping GE Capital to invest in both debt and equity securities across the infrastructure space, and then rounded out his experience by spending an extensive amount of time on the operating side where he helped manage the corporate development groups, managing acquisitions and partnerships, at Exodus Communications and Cable and Wireless America (CWA).
More recently, Ken has worked with a variety of companies creating detailed budgets and projections, operating plans, performance analytics, and reporting packages for managing their businesses and communicating effectively with their various stake holders. He has also worked with private equity firms as they consider investment opportunities in the infrastructure space providing financial due diligences and strategic counsel.
Ken graduated from University of California, Berkeley, with a BA in Economics and Columbia University with a MIA in International Affairs.
Michelle Tree is a high impact, results-oriented executive with over two decades of strategy, brand marketing and senior business leadership experience. Michelle creates value by leading organizations to make the right strategic choices to grow revenue and profits in challenging business environments.
Michelle’s experiences includes over 20 years of strategic planning, building brands, growth strategy, and managing for profitability in wide range of industries, including food and beverage, consumer products, natural/organic products, durables, luxury goods, and telecommunications. A proven strategic thinker with strong tactical execution skills, Michelle knows how to lead people, solve problems, and make breakthrough growth happen as a change agency with entrepreneurial passion.
Michelle has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, an undergraduate degree from Tufts University and a successful independent consulting practice of her own.
Jack Haynie works with companies to improve their strategy and operations, and their customers’ experience with their products and services while also generating greater revenues, profits and cash flow. Jack’s experience ranges from his early career in Finance at GE to operations consulting at Accenture and transformation programs at private companies. He has helped clients in more than 15 industries to get better results from various business functions from manufacturing to service operations, from finance to HR.
Jack has a BS from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and a successful independent consulting practice of his own.
Jeffrey Moridani is an experienced consultant who has spent the past 10 years working with corporate banks, startups, and small businesses in a wide variety of industries and across multi-disciplinary job functions. His career began in fixed income securities analysis at JP Morgan and TCW where he focused on leading industry research used in hedging strategies/risk mitigation for portfolio management.
Jeff utilizes his experience with both fundamental and quantitative methodologies to provide clients with an end-to-end view of business issues. This viewpoint helps improve business outcomes like sustainable growth and profitability by refining value drivers that deliver better results by aligning business strategies to operations.
Jeff holds a BA in Economics with a minor in Japanese from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an MA in Corporate Finance from the University of California, Berkeley.
